Certificates Required 

  • Certified Australian Death Certificate 
  • Embalming Certificate by a qualified licensed embalmer 
  • Statutory Declaration of the manner that the casket is sealed, wrapped and prepared for air carriage. 
  • Non-Infectious Certificate by a qualified Medical Practitioner or Coroner 


Consular Restrictions/Requirements 

·          The Chief Medical Officer of medical officer appointed by him requires 

·          An official Certificate of cause of death issued by local registrar of deaths or similar body 

·          A declaration by the certified person, who prepared the remains outlining the method of preparation and stating that the coffin only contains the body of the deceased, their clothing and packing materials. 

  • Transmit Permit stating the deceased’s full name and age issued by the competent authority at the place of death or for exhumed remains the place of burial. 
  • These documents are to accompany the shipment of the remains 
  • An immovable plaque or marking on the outside of the coffin stating the name, age and final destination of the remains.
